Are Expensive Hair Care Products Sold in Beauty Salons the Same as Those Sold for Less in Stores?

Many name brand expensive hair care products are sold in drugstores and discount retailers. Ever wonder whether those supposed “salon only” products sold in Walmart or CVS are of the same quality as those sold in hair salons. Well if you read the labels of many of the hair care products or ask your hairdresser, they will tell you that the authenticity of those same hair products that are sold in stores are not guaranteed authentic unless you purchase them at a salon; that the salon version of the product is better and worth the extra money. Are these products sold in retail stores really inferior to the salon products? If so, how and why? I did read an article before where I think it was Paul Mitchell being upset about their products being sold in drugstores. I can’t remember exactly but I know they said they couldn’t guarantee if the product had been tampered with or watered down. I obviously don’t know if that is true..but if they are trying to make more money by having it be available to the general public why they would be upset about their products being sold in a drugstore. They may have been talking about smaller stores.

Also..it said the company itself doesnt tamper with products..they were just saying people shipping products could be the ones tampering with the products. There is always a middle man in how the products get to where they are. I think that is why they can’t guarantee their products. Of course who knows what is actually true, and they have to put that disclaimer on their products to save their butts if something does go wrong with the product.

Hi, that’s why I did this video. To help people know the truth and understand the reasoning behind what’s going on. It’s really basically a marketing tactic called product diversion. You can rest assured that you’re getting the same quality Paul Mitchell product from the drugstore as you are getting at the salon. The same distributors ship to both. I hope this will help save you some money :o )

No. Many drugstore brands which are produced by the big corporations like Proctor and Gamble have huge budgets for creating great products. I think they can be every bit as good as the high end brands. It’s really more about finding ones that you like that work for your hair type.

Hi, that’s not true. They would ruin the reputation of their product. I would not worry about anything you bought in a regular store.

Hi, I am not wearing a strapless bra. It’s a regular bra that’s skin colored with some padding so you cannot see through it at all. It actually looks the same color as my body like you wouldn’t look at me and say “oh I see her bra”. The floral design of the top conceals that perfectly as well. I simply moved the straps over a bit and kept them in place with a tiny little safety pin. You can’t see the safety pins because I coated them with black nail polish!

i dont live in us, so i dont know about if u guys have the same stuff. but in every our cheap stores when i look at the ingredients, each one contain harsh chemicals. and actually even in our salons hair products contain those chemicals. there are brands as redken, kerastase

can u please pitch in your thoughts on Wen Hair Products ? Heard that they are awesome. Thanks.

WRONG!!!!!! Is that why they are selling old, and discontinued products??? It’s watered down and old! AND… They are not cheaper! You pay more at stores! These products need to be recommend by a professional, because you may be using the wrong products for your hair. No one knows your hair like your hair stylist!!!!!
