I imagine it is because a lot of salons get their supplies from bulk sellers, and they stick with certain brands only. But this is just a guess. Whenever I get my nails done at a salon I bring my own basecoat and that magic Seche Vite with me!

Oh, I’d love to sit and chat while you did my nails, and I bet they’d be perfect!! All the salons around here do a bad job — all in a hurry. But I am a picker! once I feel the first snag it’s all over!! xo

It would have been better if I had removed them that way than peeling them off… maybe next time. Thanks for the info. ~angie

I saw from previous comments, you know about sally selling UV lamps. As long as lamp is a 36W, you are good. I purchased mine thru hautelook, with fan, and light sensor for 100. I went to uv nails.com and the machine was over 200. I ordered pro sheer pink gel. The pro gel is much more solid. It’s so worth buying it at at sally. Of you decide to buy it pls let me know. :+) x

Place a cotton ball soaked in 100% pure acetone, on top of nail, wrap in small piece of foil. Let sit 5minutes. Unwrap, with wooden cuticle slide off, if its difficult, let sit a little while longer. It should just slide off with not much resistant.

I don’t use acetone, so this wouldn’t work for me. Thanks.

I’m learning to do them myself as the prices we pay for a ‘good’ salon are quite high. Plenty of cheaper salons but I’ve had a few bad experiences and having moved cities I can’t be bothered trekking around to find a good salon. I’m getting quicker and find I like to sit at night watching YouTube while doing my nails. Allowing a bit of time before bed, by morning they’re not damaged and perfect – well as perfect as I’ll ever get them! They look pretty good though!
