    @anotheriteration i doubt it was the foundation for mcgirk/imus remark. white people have been making jokes about the texture of black hair long before spike lee was ever created. and no where in the film, interestingly enough, were the nappy-headed girls referred to as hos or even implied that they were. in fact, it was the opposite way around. It was Tisha Campbell’s character (one of the wannabes with straight hair) that was the “ho” – even though her situation was due to being manipulated.

    @324clw That’s not true. There are just as many dark AKAs as there very light Deltas. And in case you didn’t know the founders of DST were AKAs, wouldn’t that mean that they had light skin too.

    lol i always found it funny they was talkin bout straight and nappy hair but all of their hair was curly and kinky
